NIMG (an initialism for Not In My Generation) is an acronym expressing the mentality of those who refuse to accept that in a closed environment, such as the human ecosphere, "sustainable growth ... isn't."^{[cite this quote]}

In 2006 only developing countries have been ravaged by famine, drought and Epidemics resulting from Overpopulation, and environmental degradation such as deforestation. (There is controversy about the anthropogenic component, Global Warming, of the 2003 heat waves which killed over 30,000 in Spain and France). However most scientists agree that at some point in the 21st century our species must either voluntarily limit the individual's consumption of renewable and non-renewable resources, and its attendant release of waste products into the biosphere, or collectively face the collapse of the ecosystem's capability to sustain life.

NUMPA (Not Under My Party's Administration) and NIMTOO (Not In My Term Of Office) are related mindsets that derive from a ruling bureaucracy's self-interest in deferring unpopular legislation/policy changes that reduce energy and manufacturing industry profits. Many consider the U.S. withdrawal from the Kyoto Protocol in June, 2001, and President Bush's rationale of "negative economic impact, with layoffs of workers and price increases for consumers"[1], an example of such political NIMGism.
