Nilesat 201 Satellite, is a future Egyptian communications satellite. It will provide Digital Television to Home(DTH), radio and TV transmission services and fast data transmission services for North Africa and Western Asia. Schedule data for initial operations are February 2010.

It will be based in Spacebus 4000B2 satellite platform. Primer contractor is Thales Alenia Space. Position will be 7ºW in geosynchronous orbit. Nominal lifetime in 15 years, launch mass of 3.2 tonnes nad 5.7Kw of electricity power to payload at end of nominal lifetime. It will carry 40 transponders, of which 24 will be of BSS-type in Ku band and 4 in Ka band.
