Nilda Pedrosa

Nilda Pedrosa is a Senior Policy Advisor for former Republican National Committee Chair and current Florida Senator Mel Martinez. Prior to working for Senator Martinez, she served as a regional director for former senator Connie Mack, Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of State for the current administration [1] and Political Director successful Martinez for Senate campaign.

She has been on Senator Martinez's staff since the beginning of his term in January 2005, first serving as his state policy director. Ms. Pedrosa advises the senator on various policy issues with an emphasis on Cuba, Latin America, and immigration.

She has been the leading member of Senator Martinez's staff on immigration issues, and has spearheaded his efforts to obtain passage of comprehensive imigration reform in the United States Senate in 2006 and 2007. To that end, she has spoken at various forums on this topic including the National Council of La Raza and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

She has also been a prominent member of the Cuban-American lobby for several years, and is an active member of Cuba Democracy Advocates.

She is the staff member responsible for Cuba policy for Senator Martinez.[2][3]

She has been a member of the 11th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission since 2001, as an appointee of former Governor Jeb Bush. Most recently, she served as chair of the nominating committee.
