The World Trade Organization currently has 148 member states, plus four more entities (EU, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). 2 states have completed negotiations (1 Africa, 1 Oceania). 28 states are in negotiations (9 Africa, 1 America, 9 Asia, 8 Europe, 1 Oceania). No state has observer status. One state is a permanent special observer (1 Europe). 15 states have no relationship to the WTrO (2 Africa, 4 Asia, 3 Europe, 6 Oceania).
The process is as follows: memorandum on foreign trade regime, bilateral market access negotiations, drafting of terms of accession.
