Nigger (2002 book)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nigger: The Strange Career of a Troublesome Word is a book by Randall Kennedy about the history and sociology of the word nigger. It was published in 2002.
The book was prominently featured in an episode of Boston Public in which a white teacher, played by Michael Rapaport, attempted to employ the book to teach his students about the history and controversy surrounding the word. (An interesting cross-note is that Rapaport portrayed Dunwitty in the 2000 Spike Lee movie Bamboozled, which is discussed in the book.)
