Talk:Nietzschean (Andromeda)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Did anyone else notice the glaring error that Nietzscheans are not genetically engineered? Nietzscheans were created eugenically, that means natural yet selective breeding towards an idealized set of characteristics. Genetic engineering means the scientific tampering with the genome through transgenics or some form of direct code modification.
What is described in "reproductive method" section is eugenic.
Dylan Hunt, on the other hand was half genetically engineered, since he inherited half of his mother's artificial "heavy-worlder" genome which makes him unusually tough.
This is all IIRC, so I feel I lack the authority to do these edits judiciously, but hopefully someone with a better knowledge and the DVD collection can do this right. --71.190.86.124 (talk) 11:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I removed this: But it is unlikely any but a few reach this age since they often die in battle instead. As nietzcheans are bread as the ultimate survivers I doubt this, there is no evidence supporting it, they are not klingons!Sabre63d 20:48, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
From physiolology: "but the blades will grow back." I am not aware of any evidence for this, there are two examples of bone-blade removal, the first is Tyr who who while an exceptional case these did not regrow before his death. The second was the spy in the season 2 finale who had his bone blades removed to pass as human. He had scars on his arms although and at no point was regrowth mentioned. furthermore The Persied doctor Tyr went to visit to create his fake genetic identity mentioned "give you new ones" perhaps indicating that they would not regrow by themselves. The above information has NEVER been confirmed in canon, also the above inforamtion says Drago took over at the age of 19 but in allsystems.org (which has official information) it syasd Drago was 22. All this stuff about Rheged Mossadim and Pride Museveni is complete fanon NOT canon.
The talk page is the appropriate place to reach consensus for what is accurate and what isn't. Boojum 20:17, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
<68.125.130.110 asks: where the poop does all this info come from?!?>
A lot came from the show, a lot came from the publicity websites which were online while the show was still running. Sabre63d 00:25, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
remove link SPAM!!!!!!!!!???? Social Sciences > Life Forms > Nietzscheans
I think this is a hangover from when the allsystems university was online. It looks like it's a search engine creating it. Good to remove. Sabre63d 00:24, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
This article seems to be not canon. --Elyc
Well then, please SOMEONE, SOMEBODY, take the liberty of removing the inaccuracies from this article. Keep in mind, that this article does have an original research tag on it, and as Wikipedia users we must ensure total Encyclopedic accuracy. If just anyone came on Wikipedia to actually know something about the Nietzschean race, all they are left with is half-facts, mixed with second-source rubbish. I beleive that they [the dedicated readers] desearve more than this. --Dark Observer
- I will. There seems to be a lot of fanon information on Andromeda-related articles (e. g. who's that Vedran Tri-Spring Triumvere mentioned on Systems Commonwealth?). I have started the cleanup and general reorganization, and will get to this article soon. Skroderider 20:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
In all the credits it's Drago Museveni who travels back to get Beka Valentine's DNA, also Drago's bones disappear when the character is around, so it would seem that it is drago —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.6.132.163 (talk) 18:32, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
