[edit] Where is this about?

There's no indication of where this system operates, till we suddenly read: Nielsen SoundScan also tracks sales data for singles and albums in Canada as well. I tentatively infer that what precedes this refers to the US. Can somebody knowledgable about this (not me!) rewrite less ambiguously? Thanks. -- Hoary 04:41, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Accessing the data

is there any way to access this data like you can with RIAA gold/platinum stats? Dr. Trey 11:13, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

I would also like to know this. ИΞШSΜΛЯΞ 03:14, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Yes this article says nothing referring to how this information is extracted from Nielsen. I'll put a stub at top of article, hopefully someone can find out this information. I am having problems locating this answer via google. Hackajar 08:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thousands or decimal separators?

The commas in the Top Selling Albums section are a bit ambiguous... A decimal would make more sense considering that it concerns American album sales only, but that's just my opinion. D'Agosta 21:01, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Those below the 10th listing are fictional

There is no referencing to show where this data came from, and therefore the list is presenting figures as facts. Although it is a forum so cannot be referenced, the following shows a breakdown of sales per annum [[1]] till 2007 and ties in closely to previous charts and press releases from Soundscan since 1999. Refer Best-selling albums in the United States since Nielsen SoundScan tracking began where you can see the albums shunted off the bottom. Therefore this data should be removed. At the moment I will add a dispute and citation required to the page, but unless references are added - it needs to go. 60.234.242.196 (talk) 21:45, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Removed as 2008 data has came out (top 10 only) 60.234.242.196 (talk) 07:09, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
