[edit] Summary

en: The two preserved title pages for Friedrich Nietzsche's Der Antichrist. The earlier one (presumably from September 1888, left) shows AC as the first book of Umwerthung aller Werthe ("Revaluation of all values"). The right one, presumably from November / December 1888, has Der Antichrist as main title. Umwerthung aller Werthe first remains as a subtitle for this work, but then Nietzsche crossed it out and replaced it with Fluch auf das Christenthum ("Curse on Christianity"). Several letters from November and December 1888 also show that Nietzsche abandoned the four-book project of "Revaluation" and regarded Der Antichrist as a completed work. Facsimile from Erich Podach: Friedrich Nietzsches Werke des Zusammenbruchs, Heidelberg 1961, figures IV and V after p. 432. Manuscript D XXII in the Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv, Weimar.
