Nic Kat: Born 29th May 1974 - Sydney, Australia
Nic Kat is the hottest name, voice and face in dance music, right here, right now.
Hailing from Australia, Nic owns a powerfully seductive voice that's not only instantly recognisable, but incredibly sexy. Since his raw talent was spotted, refined and polished in his teens by Australian music legend Marcia Hines ("Australian Idol" judge and 2007 Hall of Fame inductee), he's just been waiting for the right moment to make the world stand up and take notice. Now there's no stopping him!
Earlier this year Nic scored a massive pan-European hit as vocalist on "Some Lovin'" with Italy's Alex Fain, on the revered Alex Gaudino's Rise Records. Now Nic's the busiest and most wanted dance artist of 2007, working on several projects across all continents. He features on three of the most eagerly-awaited dance tracks of this northern summer no less.
Travelling to Sweden late last year, Nic wrote and recorded "I Believe In Love", the stand-out track on "Music Takes Me", the upcoming new album by DJ supremo Stonebridge, due in June. The track also features UK sensation Rita Campbell on backing vocals. The seamless blend of these vocal talents is pure explosive pop/dance dynamite. Watch it blow up big in the charts!
Then it's time for Nic to "Scream", which he wrote and recorded earlier this year in France. together with one of the world's most wanted men in dance music, Chris Kaeser. If this one doesn't make you bust a few moves on the dancefloor, then nothing will! Digital release is June 25 with vinyl release July 16.
You still want more? Due out before the summer's end is the scorching “82-86” from Lys Feat Nic Kat, recorded in Italy. “82-86” could quite easily be the most lyrically direct, dirty and honest track of 2007 (“I don’t want love/I just want sex”) as Nic writhes his way through a brilliantly-produced electro track full of pure raunch and unadulterated attitude.
But not only is Nic a vocal powerhouse, he's also an accomplished songwriter, having had his songs recorded by, amongst others, Australia's highest selling female artist, Delta Goodrem, as well as the afformentioned Marcia Hines. He's also written with Germany's million-selling ATB, UK hitmakers SoulSeekerz, respected names Carl Ryden and Danny Kirsch and US dance legend Man Parrish. We also hear a whisper he's written something quite special with a big name 80s pop star that should see the light of day very soon.
But right here and right now, it's time for you to get to know Nic Kat.
He wants to hear you scream!
