Talk:Nicky Crane
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I can find no source for the claims about the S/M club. Is there one? Dogville 15:26, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Dogville:
While I can't substantiate the claims about S/M clubs I can give first hand warranty that between 1983 and 1986 (the dates fixed in my mind by other events in my life - 1986 by being at the Gay Pride post-march rally in Kennington) Nicky Crane was around in Soho. At some point I would guess in early 1983 I saw him at the Craven Club near the Strand and close to Heaven night club and on later occasions I know he was "on the door" (ie security) at the Golden Lion during it's last days with "Lady Jack" as landlord before he moved on to take over Comptons. Since at the time I was active on the left around London I found Crane's presency intimidating to say the least but rumour was that he had given up his fascist activity. Not a reference that can be verified I'm afraid and alas I have no intention of of identifying myself.

Dogville replies: Thanks very much for the reply. I fully understand that you don't want to identify yourself, but I'm researching NC for a project of my own and would be extremely interested in any more memories you have at the time. If you're prepared, say, to email me from an anonymous webmail account, I'd be very grateful. You can contact me on dogville.2006@mac.com. Dogville 00:55, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Attention Marioat9
I don't know if this is the place for this but I can't see another way to do it. I'm doing some research on a topic related to this article and would like to get in contact with Marioat9, who contributed the since-deleted addition of 26 September. Unfortunately Marioat9 hasn't enabled email contact. If s/he reads this, or anyone knows how I can get in touch with him/her, please email me via Wikipedia (click on my username and then on 'email this user) in the toolbox at the bottom of the left-hand bar. Thanks. Dogville 15:23, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] ITALIAN?
Did Nicky Crane have Italian heritage? By his name it sounds like he did.
Yes he did, though obviously he was born in the UK.
[edit] Too many photos
This article has way too many photos. They are not all necessary, and most of them don't have any copyright information listed. This page is starting to look like a fan site, so some of those images should be deleted in order to make this a more formal, encyclopedic article. Spylab 11:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

CRANE TAKES A BEATING I seem to recall that shortly before his death,Crane was given a severe beating by Red Action activists who were jailed for the attack, after Crane was caught at a bus stop after an abortive counter demo to a Troops Out demo in London in the late 80s. THROWN THROUGH BUS SHELTER
I thought NC had "retired" from street politics by the end of his life. Mind you another source on the Net referred to him "being thrown through a bus shelter...". Wonder if this was the same incident? Also it can't be "shortly before his death" in the "late-80s" if he lived 'til the early-90s! Bowroaduk 23:31, 31 October 2007

[edit] The Sun article
what does the word "panzi" mean? I'm german and I never heard that word and found nothing on the internet, except this article. --87.174.65.39 (talk) 02:34, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know what article you are referring to, but it must be a Portmanteau word made up from "pansy" - a homophobic term - and Nazi.--Peter cohen (talk) 09:09, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
