[edit] Note on Band Competitions

I have not put in reference points for the band competitions because I do not know of any existing references in print. Members of my family and I, along with family friends, were involved in high school band and competed there in the championships. I did not put a definitive start date because I am not sure if it is earlier than 1985; I know that the competition was held there that year, but I do not know when it moved there from the former Manning Bowl in Lynn, which previously held it. Also, one of the main reasons it has not been held in the stadium since 1996 is because of BU dropping the football program and converting from a turf multi-use field to a grass soccer field. Uh, the field's always been turf (well, since it was first converted to turf in 1968, that is). AstroTurf until 2001, when it was replaced by FieldTurf (ref). -- Jonel (Speak to me) 13:53, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Uh, no references on the band competitions because you don't know of any. That sounds like something that is not appropriate for inclusion in wikipedia. What say we take it out? Comments? Pzavon 22:08, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
At the very least, I don't see why the list of other locations where the band competition has been held is relevant to the article. As far as the band competitions themselves, I don't see how they stand out among the thousands of MIAA, Amatuer or community events that have happened in the long history of the venue.
