[edit] Links to a blog

Do these links really belong here?

I certainly never would have added them, though they're not blatantly inappropriate. -- Jmabel | Talk 20:49, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Usually I'd say no, but I'd agree with you, they're not blatantly inappropriate--I don't mind if they're left in. --Lukobe 21:07, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nick Lowe's middle name

I believe Nick's middle name is Orain -- not Drain. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.165.201.47 (talkcontribs) 26 December 2006.

You could be right; it's uncited, and I don't see anything I'd consider a really reliable online source for either one. - Jmabel | Talk 06:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandals

Someone just pulled down this enitre page. Please install anti vandal html. Thanks- Catherine Thanks so much to whomever restored this page. To wikipedia experts please enable anti vandalism mode on here. Thanks-Catherine —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Catherine Huebscher (talkcontribs) 18 January 2007.

Would that it were so simple as to have "anti vandalism mode". It is not easy to make automatic determinations what is vandalism and what are legitimate edits.
Anyone can revert vandalism simply by going to the article history and restoring the last good version of the article (with an appropriate summary: "revert vandal" will do). If an article is frequently vandalised, there are some thing we can do in terms of protection, but they also stop legitimate edits. - Jmabel | Talk 18:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Best-known song

How can "Lowe's best-known song from the Brinsley Schwarz era," be a song that was recorded after that "era" because it was rejected by other members of the band? Nicmart 16:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't say "best known recording." It says "best known song." Those songs are, in fact, from the Brinsley Schwarz era (since that's when he wrote them), even if the recordings that made them famous are from later.

[edit] The Bodyguard

What is the source of the assertion that Lowe was freed from commercial constraints because he became a millionaire due to sales of The Bodyguard? What was he worth before that? Has he said that he was less concerned about commercial success after this alleged windfall? Nicmart 17:04, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Not sure of the source, and I didn't write that, but I've heard him say that on two occasions. But I realize that is not citable. On his first U.S. tour after The Bodyguard he remarked on the pleasure of being able to bring a full band without thinking too much about the money involved. - Jmabel | Talk 20:25, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Image:Nlowe bowi.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
