Nicolas (pronounced [nikɔˈlɑ]) is the French spelling of the name Nicholas. It can also be a surname in France. In Spanish it is written with an accent as Nicolás ([nikoˈlas]). Nicolas is sometimes used as an alternative spelling of Nicholas in English or of Nicolau in Portuguese.
