She has worked for various consumer magazines and websites including The Fly, Mean Fiddler, Clickmusic, Slant (Virgin Megastores), UK Live and Music Week, where she worked as online and digital editor.

Nicola is currently editor of Record of the Day, a music industry news service and magazine.
