Niall Ó Dónaill (1908 - 1995) was an Irish language lexicographer from Loch an Iúir, County Donegal, Ireland. Ó Dónaill is most famous for his work as editor of the 1977 Irish-English dictionary which is still widely used today. He received his education in St. Eunan's College in Letterkenny and went on to study in University College Dublin. Niall wrote the book ‘Bruigheann Féile’ which is based on stories of pastimes in the Gaeltacht town Loch an Iúir and its surrounding area. In 1952 his book ‘Na Glúnta Rosannacha' was first published.[1] He died in 1995.
