[edit] MadV

I notice you have flagged the MadV article for deletion.
It might be worth noting that this article has already passed a deletion review once before, so the chances of failing a second time are very small.
Also, given your obvious bias to the article (username 'NextHoudini', and your previous contributions), your recommendation for deletion certainly looses any weight.

FYI - there are several Youtube celebrities catalogued on Wikipedia, so attempting to remove one of the more popular ones such as MadV may be futile.

[edit] notice about MadV's AfD

You left a notice on User:Lungsboat about the AfD nomination, but you really should have left it on their talk page User talk:Lungsboat — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 05:25, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

ANd new notices on talk pages belong at the bottom, not the top. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 05:45, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Nexthoudini. You have new messages at Timotab's talk page.

[edit] Re: MadV

1. I have no idea where you got the number '6000' from. If you go to his page it clearly states he has well over 20,000 subscribers. In your own words 'tens of thousands' would qualify for a large fan-base.
2. Spelling mistakes in an article ARE IN NO WAY a reason for deleting the article. Just change them.
3. Reduntant links can also be changed. Again, this is not a reason for deletion.
4. There are several Youtube Celebrities catalogued on Wiki, some of which have less of a fan-base, and less media attention. I don't see you trying to delete them!!!

[edit] Re: MadV

So you admit that '6000' was a mistake. Are you also admitting to not really checking 'facts' before you go around deleting pages?
You might also like to check the 'facts' that he has been featured on MTV and ABC both of which are validation of notability, not to mention the validation he has received from YouTube itself (contest nominations, video statistics etc)
It seems to me (and I'm going to speculate here) that you may be suffering from a form of envy
I'm still skeptical as to your bias on the article given the following:
1. You have only targeted MadV's article, while ignoring other 'Youtube celebrities' who, under your own categorisation, also fail to meet notability requirements
2. Your username 'Next Houdini' and your self-proclaimed status as a magician will certainly lend a negative bias to a 'magician' who has garnered more attention than yourself
3. Instead of simply amending spelling errors or gramatical faults you chose simply to delete the entire article. Surely this is hasty in any terms. What is the rush?

A moment on 'notability' -
There exists Wikipedia articles on several Youtubers of varying levels of notability. At the last count MadV is significantly more subscribed, more viewed, more rated, more responded, more favorited and definitely more emulated than others (but not all) on that list. This is not to mention 'real-world' media taking an interest. He has had entire segments of popular news channels dedicated to featuring his work and the response to his work. ABC went as far as to emulate his 'One World' project by broadcasting their own invitation for others to join. MTV news compared his style with that of Presidential candidates. There are online articles about his projects, fan sites, magazine interviews, and newspaper articles. All of these are referenced in the article. Maybe you would like to have a look at them, if it doesn't make you too jealous.
I'm sure you can see why people would deem these achievements as notable. If not, go ask his 24,000 subscribers.

So far you have still failed to come up with any valid reason for deletion other than 'I think he's not noteworthy'.
By your own admission bias and spelling errors are not valid reasons
You keep back-pedaling about numbers, and you completely side-step the FACTS about noteworthy features on respectable 'real-media' programmes.
Plus, you have ignored the fact that the article has already passed one AfD review.
The question is not about either his skill as a magician or any copyright infringement - it's about the effect and spread of his work (including the non-magic based videos which are far more noteworthy)

I can't believe you think these links say nothing about him! Maybe you didn't click on the actual references? http://abcnews.go.com/icaught/story?id=3505508 http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1550530&vid=133879 http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/207640/youtubes_the_message_video_sends_message.html, Please - do some research before haphazardly diving in to something you clearly know nothing about.
