Nexhat Daci

Nexhat Daci (Serbo-Croat: Nedžad Daci) (pronounced /ne.'ʤat da.ʦi/) (born 26 July 1944, in Trnavce, Serbia, Yugoslavia) served as the speaker of Assembly of Kosovo from 2001 to 2006. He is a member of the Assembly of Kosovo and the leader of the newly founded Democratic League of Dardania which he founded following his unsuccessful bid to become leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Daci was found to be at fault in an audit commissioned on expenses while he served as Speaker (President) of the Assembly. He spent state funds on eyeglasses, dentures, clothing, a plasma television for his residence purchased days before his departure from the office. He also coordinated the purchase of an armoured vehicle, for which more than two hundred and thirty thousand euro of state funds were used and the vehicle has yet to be delivered or used by a Kosovar official.

He led the construction project of the Germia villa, having received no permits or state approved budgets for its construction.

Nexhat Daci was the acting president of Kosovo from January 21, 2006 when Ibrahim Rugova died until February 11, 2006 when Fatmir Sejdiu was elected President.
