This article reads like a personal travelogue for the town of Newport. It also sounds like a tourist promotion and not an encyclopedia article. -- Dcflyer 00:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

This article has been Wikified and cleaned up -- all reference to a travelogue or brochure removed. To the author: This was a good story but read like an novel, not an encyclopedia entry. I cannot determine whether Magnolia was Newport at one time or not. I'm investigating that now. Current maps (Google and Yahoo) don't show Newport on the St. Mark's River but I do know Magnolia was on that river.
