I believe this is the year that Australia officially adopted the metric system. Unfortunately this is also the year of my birth so I have no idea about the transition and what bearing it had (if any) on rugby league (fields, etc.). Is anyone out there old enough to know or has read anything about when yards become metres regarding rugby league, or specifically the NSWRFL? I fugure it's worth a mention is the appropriate article/s.--Jeff79 (talk) 14:08, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- My impression is of a gradual change during the seventies, not one particular year. I remember commentators still referring to 'yards' or 'yard lines' in the early eighties. I'll see if I can find a link. •Florrie•leave a note• 14:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
