Newman University College is a university college offering academic degrees and teacher training in Birmingham, England.
Known as Newman College of Higher Education until January 2008, it has the highest employment of graduates rate of UK universities and is in the top 25% of UK universities for teaching quality, academic support, personal development and assessment and feedback in the 2007 National Student Survey.[citation needed] In September 2007, it was given the right to award its own degrees by the Privy Council, giving it the formal status of a University College.[2] It changed its name in January 2008 to reflect this change of status[3].
