Newcastle United Official Club Store

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Newcastle United Official Club store is a merchandise outlet for the English football club Newcastle United. There are currently four branches in total, located at St. James' Park, Monument Mall Shopping Centre and Eldon Square in Newcastle, and in the Metro Centre in Gateshead. A store located at Newcastle Airport closed in 2003 due to a re-shaping of the retail area of the terminal.

In 2005, a renovated store was opened in the Gallowgate End at St. James' Park, a joint venture between Newcastle United Retail and sports-apparel company Adidas. The new store stocks not only Newcastle United merchandise but a large selection of Adidas clothing.

The other stores are older but still very popular, with the store in the Monument Mall, Newcastle being arguably the most successful. Previously the club ran two stores in the city, both from temporary premises. One in a portable cabin was located on Barrack Road behind what is now the Milburn stand, while a second occupied the now-demolished prefab buildings opposite the also now-demolished Farmers Arms pub in the Haymarket area of the city. The area is now a taxi rank and pick-up point for the Marks and Spencer store.
