Newbuildings Independent Methodist Church is situated on the Duncastle Road in the village of Newbuildings some 5 miles from Derry in Northern Ireland. It was officially opened in 1985 under the ministry of Rev Robert Maxwell. Rev Maxwell began his evangelistic work in the year 1978. He continued to minister to the congregation until 1988 when he accepted the call of Dungannon Independent Methodist Church.
Rev Eric Moore was then installed in Newbuildings. His ministry spanned 15 years when in 2003 he was invited to take up the pastorate in Bangor Independent Methodist Church.
There followed a period of vacancy until 2008 when Rev Jonathan Campbell left Ballysillan Independent Methodist Church to become the congregation's third minister. Newbuildings Independent Methodist Church is affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Methodist Churches.
