New York State Route 840 (also known as the Officer Joseph D. Corr Memorial Highway[2]) is a superhighway extension of Judd Road, which formerly ended at Halsey Road in Whitestown, to the concurrency of NY 5/NY 8/NY 12 in southern Utica. The southern end meets a cloverleaf interchange, where the road continues as NY 8 south.
Although signed as an east-west route, the reference markers are sequenced from the arterial concurrency northward, ending at the Halsey Road intersection.

[edit] Route description
Heading northward from the NY 5/NY 8/NY 12 concurrency in Utica, NY 840 has exits with NY 5A and Middle Settlement Road in New York Mills. North of that, the road reduces to a four-lane undivided highway, with at-grade intersections with Clark Mills Road and the terminus at Halsey Road in Whitestown. Judd Road continues northward from that point, providing direct access to the former Oneida County Airport.
There are two incorrect reference markers along the northbound inventory (westbound direction of travel). While they display the correct bottom row of digits, they are instead for NY 12, and in the middle row, bear the numbers "6 7 0 5", which is out of definition.[3]
