From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New York State Route 25C was a former alternate route of New York State Route 25 in Queens and Western Nassau County, New York. Like New York State Route 25B, it ran to and from NY 25 at its western terminus in Queens and its eastern terminus in Nassau County. Unlike NY 25B, the eastern terminus is much further west in Nassau.
[edit] Route description
In Queens, as well as near Lake Success in Nassau County, it ran along Union Turnpike, a road often recognized more by its name than by its designation. At the east end of the Union Turnpike at Marcus Avenue, not a state highway, it continued southeastward along Marcus Avenue.
After crossing New York State Route 25B in Hillside Manor, it continued its southeasterly run until Nassau Boulevard. From there, NY 25C took another diagonal turn to Marcus Avenue Extension, until finally reuniting with New York State Route 25 in Garden City Park.
[edit] History
The NY 25C designation was removed on January 1, 1970.[2] The Nassau County portion of the route is now New York State Reference Route 900F, although most of the reference markers along the route still read "25C".[3]
