New York, Tyne and Wear

New York is small village situated in Tyne and Wear in the North East of England and is part of the urban conurbation of North Tyneside, including the nearby towns of North Shields, Whitley Bay and Wallsend.

The main and nearest city to New York is Newcastle upon Tyne.

New York houses approximately one thousand residents.

The village of New York has three shops, a general store, a post office, a petrol station, a pub, a working men's club, two take-away food shops (Chinese and local take-away food shop "The Bronx"), a car garage and a primary School.

New York does not have its own Tyne and Wear Metro station; however, nearby Shiremoor does. Many bus routes operate through New York as it is located next to Cobalt business park and the Silverlink retail park.
