New Tredegar

New Tredegar (Welsh: Tredegar Newydd) is a former coal mining community [1] in the Rhymney Valley, South Wales [2], within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.
New Tredegar is also the home of New Tredegar RFC and Tredegar Arms AFC
New Tredegar is home to The Winding House, originally used during the mining period for the East shaft it is now home to a county museum which is set to open Spring 2008 [3].
The area is rich in the industrial heritage of the ex South Wales coalfield and this heritage is commemorated in the new architecture [4].
