The New South Wales Student Representative Council (NSW SRC) is a body that exists as part of the New South Wales Department of Education and Training's student welfare program. The NSW DET cites this body as its "peak student leadership consultative and decision-making forum".

The NSW SRC is structured and operates as so it;

  • has elected members from all regions in NSW to represent the views of NSW secondary students
  • consists of 22 members, including two Aboriginal student leaders
  • meets five times per year
  • is consulted on student issues by senior officers in the Department of Education and Training, Government departments, businesses and community groups
  • distributes minutes summaries from each term's meetings to all government secondary school SRCs
  • works on the recommendations passed at the NSW State SRC Conference by the student forum
  • Students are elected at regional meetings held after the state conference
  • two student leaders are elected from each region
