New Lots is a neighborhood in the eastern part of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It was known as the Town of New Lots from 1852 when the area seceded from the Town of Flatbush until it was annexed in 1886 as the 29th Ward. The population is largely African-American and Hispanic. The neighborhood is part of Brooklyn Community Board 5. It is served by the IRT New Lots Line. Nearby neighborhoods include Canarsie to the west, and East New York to the north.
