New Lodge, South Yorkshire

New Lodge is a village in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England.

The ' New Lodge' estate is located to the north of Barnsley on the A61 near Athersley. It is a predominantly council estate which was built circa 1950 for returning soldiers of the second world war. The ' Lodge' refers to the old house that still remains on the estate and is now an old peoples home and was resided in by the original owner of the land.
