[edit] Route description

Route 324 is Old Swedesboro-Bridgeport Road in Bridgeport, an area within Logan Township.[1] It runs 1.51 miles (2.43 kilometers) from where a ferry used to take US 322 across the Delaware River before the Commodore Barry Bridge was built, to a dead end next to US 322. It does not intersect US 322 at all.[1]

[edit] History

Prior to the opening of the Commodore Barry Bridge in 1974, Route 324 was part of U.S. Route 322.[2] Prior to the 1953 renumbering, Route S44 was concurrent with U.S. Route 322 along this route. The Route S44 designation was removed in the renumbering to avoid the concurrency.[2]
