New Eltham railway station is in the London Borough of Greenwich in south-east London, in Travelcard Zone 4. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Southeastern. Originally opened in 1878 as Pope Street Station, it was intended to be a luxurious station for first class season ticket holders. The station has now been added to the DfT Access for All Scheme and will become fully step free access from 2012-2015. Until then Platform 1 (London Bound)is only step free.

Trains from the station run eastbound to Dartford, Gravesend and to London Cannon Street via Slade Green, and westbound to Cannon Street and London Charing Cross via Lewisham.
