From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richard Neutra on the cover of Time Magazine, August 15, 1949.

Though this image is subject to copyright, I feel its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It is a historically significant photo of a famous individual.
  2. The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
  3. It is a low resolution copy of a magazine cover.
  4. It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the magazine in any way.
  5. Copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the image for another magazine.
  6. Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the subject of this article and how the person depicted was very historically/internationally significant to the general public.
