I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! By the way, your creation of Characteristic sequence has been tagged as 'providing insufficient context for those unfamiliar with the subject matter' (i.e. if you aren't good at Math, then you don't know what it means). - Hello, and also a warm welcome from me. I saw your contribution at Characteristic sequence and I am not sure what to make from it. I assume that you mean that given a sequence (an) with
, the characteristic sequence of a set
is the sequence (bn) with bn = χB(an), with χB being the characteristic function. Could you please tell us in which discipline within mathematics this definition is used? It is not in the standard undergraduate curriculum, is it? Also, a reference would be very nice indeed. I don't know whether you are specializing in mathematics in some way, but if you want to ask maths-specific questions, you can do so at my talk page at User talk:Jitse Niesen; specific guidance can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. - But most importantly, continue contributing!
