Nelson Jacobsen is married and live with his wife and daughter in Friendship Heights, D.C.. Nelson is a member of the Ward 3 Democrats in Washington, D.C. He is currently a Democratic member of the Ward 3 Democrats Executive Committee where he served as the Finance Sectary and Finance Committee chairman.

Nelson is very interested in Emergency Mangement and serves as a member of Mayor Fenty's Citizen Corps Council as well a trainner of DC Community Emergency Response TeamCERT's.

A graduate of University of Maryland, where he received a B.A. Economics degree/ His professional endeavors included serving as a member of the Bill Clinton Administration's Advance team. Nelson Jacobsen also put up Altavoz.com one of the very early dotcoms back in 1995 to stream and download music. Nelson Jacobsen is also a Poet.
