Nelson Nieves (born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico) is an experimental/ Post Rock guitar player, composer, arranger. He has played with the shoegaze band Un.Real from 1997-1999. He formed Fosil in late 1994, influenced by the sounds of The Cure, Depeche Mode, Soda Stereo, Suede, Radiohead, Ride and My Bloody Valentine. Fosil released their debut on 1998, which contained songs mostly composed by Nelson.
On 2000 after Fosil's broke up he he formed the short-lived Hipersonica with Fosil's setlist mostly. Later that year formed the critically acclaimed stoner rock outfit Calvario. Currently he and former Fosil bass player Luis Ruben Rosario are expecting to release their debut album.
