Nellie Ellis was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She was played by Elizabeth Kelly.
[edit] History
Nellie was a relative of Pauline Fowler, and close friend of Dot Cotton and Ethel Skinner.
Nellie appeared in Walford between 1993 and 1998, though she lived away from Albert Square in sheltered accommodation. She was often seen criticising Arthur Fowler, though she got on well with his wife Pauline.
Nellie also flirted with Jules Tavernier, and even moved in with him for a while, though she made him sleep on the sofa.
She also had a cat named Mandoo, who was found dead under schizophrenic Joe Wicks' bed.
Nellie left Walford in 1998 when she was rehoused, but returned in 2000 for Ethel's funeral.
