I recall the story. Phillip Drelich confessed to Rabbi Tendler. Rabbi Tendler either turned him over to the police or convinced Drelich to turn himself in.It was one or the other. Philip Drelich lived in Monsey NY at the time, I remember this because his younger brother was a classmate of mine in Brooklyn, NY. Rabbi Tendler is a Rabbi in Monsey, NY.
