Neith (wife of Pepi II)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Neith was one of three principle queens of the Old Kingdom pharaoh Pepi II, who ruled (c. 2278 BC–c. 2184 BC). She is thought to have been a daughter of the previous ruling pharaoh Pepi I by Ankhesenpepi I, making her half-sister and cousin to her husband the pharaoh.[1]

Of the three small pyramid complexes built around that of the chief pyramid of Pepi II, hers is the largest.[2]

The remains of at least part of her mummy were uncovered and were once housed in the Qasr el-Aini Medical School.[3]
