Neil Swarbrick is a English Association football referee who referees the football league. He is from Preston, Lancashire. He used to referee in the Conference until a few years ago when he started to ref league 1&2 matches after being linesman for them before. He sometimes refs championship games and has lower league fa cup and league cup games like Chasetown FC v Port Vale FC this year where he reffed the replay as well of that game.

He is famous for refereeing the Leeds United v West Bromwich Albion match where he was suppose to be the 4th official but supposedly referee for the day Steve Bennett was called for a important cup match the day after and had to be 4th official instead and Neil took his boots. The score finished 3-2 to West Brom and Neil sent Leeds ex manager Dennis Wise to the stands after complaining about how long it took for West bromwich's striker Diomansy Kamara to leave the pitch. Dennis wise continued his frustration after the match by saying in a news conference "I wish we'd had Steve Bennett in charge today. The referee's performance was very poor and he didn't control the game."

Leicester FC manager Ian Holloway took his lap-top into referee Neil Swarbrick after the match to show him a replay of a disallowed goal in the 53rd minute. The decision to cancel out Barry Hayles's header for the narrowest of offsides prevented Leicester taking the lead and possibly clinching all three points. Holloway said: "I was disappointed the referee disallowed that goal. I didn't think it was offside and I took the lap-top in to show him.
