Dr Neil Faulkner is a professional archaeologist and is the editor of the magazine Current Archaeology.

Faulkner read political economy at King's College, Cambridge and later became a teacher before turning to archaeology; he took his doctorate at the Institute of Archaeology, London, with a study of late Roman towns.
