Negroponte

Negroponte (Italian: "black bridge") is the Italian name for the Greek island of Euboea, and can also refer to following derived names:
- Chalkis, the island's capital, also named Negroponte during the Middle Ages
- the medieval Lordship of Negroponte, established on the island after the Fourth Crusade
- John Negroponte (born 1939), American diplomat and Deputy Secretary of State; first US Director of National Intelligence
- Nicholas Negroponte (born 1943), American computer scientist; brother of John
