[edit] Licensing

  • Source: Scanned from Vannevar Bush, "National Defense Research Committee," The Scientific Monthly, Vol. 51, No. 3. (Sep., 1940), pp. 284-285, on 284. Copyright status is somewhat ambiguous -- if it was taken by a member of the U.S. federal government, then there is no copyright claim to it. But there is no copyright notice of it at all in the publication and so one can't be sure. So I am going to tag it as fair use, with the likely copyright holder being the American Association for the Advancement of Science (who published Scientific Monthly). As a historical photo it is clearly fair use for the NDRC article.
