Nazeer Naji

Nazeer Naji is a senior news columnist in Pakistan's Urdu press. He frequently writes in the country's largest daily Jang published from Karachi. Naji has a reputation for his in-depth political analysis and strong criticism of the Pakistani Establishment.

Nazir Naji is also a former chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters. He belongs to the school of journalism called lifafah journalism (yellow journalism) in Pakistan. This loosely translates into being a lota (multi-faced) journalist whereby a journalist/columnist always sides with the incumbent person/political party.

Nazir Naji is also famous for using abusive words for the people. He always praises those who are in power. Currently, he is writing for Asif Zardari and against Pervaiz Musharraf, president of Pakistan. Once he was famous for supporting Pervaiz Musharraf. According to some reports he is ill-educated and has passed only 8th grade.
