The text written in Nayar (khatri) (typed below)is wrong and relates to Nairs of Kerala. "They are most well-known for their unusual form a group marriage.[1] Every few years, prepubescent girls were married to men from different kin groups. After a three-day retreat, the groom left the village and his wife and had no further responsibility to her. The bride, once she reached sexual maturity, was allowed to receive nighttime male visitors from other kin groups. Children born from such encounters were recognised as legitimate if one of her nighttime visitors paid a "birth fee". The children were then raised as members of their mother's kin".
