I removed the references to numbers of stars for admirals and commodores, because it's US-centric (most armed forces don't use stars as insignia for these ranks, despite the article's previous assertion to the contrary) and the OF-# codes provide enough information anyway. --Foodman 13:39, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Actually, most countries shoulderboards for navy admirals use some pattern of stars - differing mainly in number of points and arrangement.

А то и для Израиля исправте: их ген-лейтенант исходя из Еремеева http://armor.kiev.ua/army/titul/izrail.shtml под кодом 17 и тогда равен ген. армии США и полным генералам в других странах.

The classification of old German ranks is wrong! The ranks equal to their respective translation in other languages. Even if there was no Flottillenadmiral in Imperial Navy, there were two classes of Kapitän zur See. The senior one was as Kommodore an rank of admiralty.
