Nau (company)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nau is a small clothing company based in Portland, Oregon, United States with a social and environmental mission. The company utilizes "webfronts"—small retail stores based in Boulder, Colorado, Bellevue, Washington, Tualatin, Oregon and Chicago, Illinois—that allow customers to preview sizes and purchase clothing, but that offer a ten-percent discount for ordering through its low-overhead online store.
The company's "green" mission includes the use of textiles developed from corn, and donation of 5% of sales to community partners working to create lasting change.
On May 2, 2008, Nau announced that is was ceasing operations, primarily due to an inability to raise further capital. [1][2][3][4]
