Description

The God Warrior from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Source

Nausicaa DVD (UK)

Article

Hideaki Anno

Portion used

Single frame, showing only part of the God Warrior. This is from a key sequence of the film, but care was taken to limit revealing key plot details, such as the fate of the God Warrior. However this does show the Warrior is activated, and may suggest Kushana is eventually behind the attack.

The image is cropped to remove the black border and to remove irrelevant details below and right.

Low resolution?

Scaled 50% x 50% (before crop)

Purpose of use

This sequence was animated by Hideaki Anno, who later produced Evangelion. This image is used to compare the two works' animation style and other similarities.

Replaceable?

Used for commentary on a specific sequence in the film, so is not replaceable

Other information The sequence is included in full in at least one Japanese television program (shown in part on the Birth of Studio Ghibli on the Nusicaa UK DVD); so inclusion of this image is unlikely to have any commercial impact.
