My real name is Chuck Hamilton. I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and have all my life except for the six years I was in the Naval Security Group and later the Joint Voluntary Agency (working witth the U.S. Refugee Program).

I am almost entirely of Scots-Irish descent, though my great-great-great-grandfather was a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. I have one son, David, whose mother (my ex-) is of Kampampangan and Tsinoy descent. I've been interested in a variety of history subjects for most of my life and have studied some rather arcane matters in that regard.

As for my handle, Nattybumpo is the misspelling of Natty, or Nathaniel, Bumppo, the actual (in the story actual) name of The Last of the Mohicans character Hawkeye. The Last of the Mohicans, Daniel Day-Lewis version, IS my most favorite movie, some other favorites being Farewell to the King, Before Sunrise, and Braveheart.

I've been associated with a number of political causes and groups in the past, most notably certain American Indian causes, Scottish nationalism, and Irish republicanism. I also keep up with current events in Southeast Asia, primarily in the Philippines, Burma, and Viet Nam, and lately events in Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Israel as well.

I have a B.S. in political science with minors in history, psychology, and religion from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I graduated with honors from the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio of Monterey. I am currently study to be a medical laboratory technician at Dalton State College.
