I've heard that you can't see anything from US 11 due to commercialization. Is this true? --NE2 18:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
It is actually so high and abrupt a turn on Rt 11 that it has been necessary to install Fencing alongside this portion of the road.
Yes. Dating back to at least the early 1970s, a tall fence consisting of vertical wooden slats prevents motorists on US 11 from seeing anything. Of course, from atop the bridge there's not much to view, and the passage is narrow so there's no room for gawkers (who would probably obstruct traffic.) I doubt that the fence is there entirely due to commercialization. Scott Johnson 18:05, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] my link removed
I guess I am not sure I understand why my link to my article Other Attractions in Virginia Near the Natural Bridge Area was removed & why it does not meet the guidelines. I live in Virginia, I visit Natural Bridge a few times of year and it is a wonderful area. I actually went to Natural Bridge several times before I found other attractions in the area. The article is not an ad, promotion or a way to get external links to increase my page rank it is an link to an article I wrote about other attractions that I have visited in the Natural Bridge area. It's about fun things to do besides go to the Natural Bridge. Could some body please explain to me how & why it is not relevant? Lacurcio 18:13, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is encyclopedia, not a web directory of links to some websites. What wikipedia needs is text of articles based on verifiable references to reliable sources. `'Míkka 21
