I recall Nations Air from their Boston <> Philadephia route. The year was 1993-1994. My fiance and I had been taking Amtrak to visit each other every other weekend.

Nations Air was great. We gave up the train and took the plane.

We even got friendly with the flight crew.

The article needs more time bounding and facts. When did Nations Air start ? When did Nations Air start their routes ? How many employees ?

I probably should try to dig through SEC filings to find out some of this info.

I worked for Nations Air for a few years, and we had a BLAST!! When I was there the Philly - Pit - Boston routes were no longer being serviced.

We mostly did service to Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach, and then Gulfport towards the end, with the 737.

Before that we did some Air Jamaica flying, Aero Costa Rica, Air Aruba, and a little bit of PanAm with the 727.

This was my first airline, and I made a lot of friends, most I'm still in contact with.


Shame it couldn't have been run by someone who knew SOMETHING about the airline industry!!

My dad worked for these guys also as a copilot, I think before he worked for (strangely enough) ValueJet.

Anyway, he's told me stories of when airlines went under, saying fuel trucks would pull up at the gate and ask the pilot to pay with a credit card to fuel the plane, since the company's check bounced.

I have no way to verify this, and my dad quit before his checks started bouncing (the stories are second- and third-hand), but it would certainly make an interesting addition to the article (or some other article).

He also worked for another little tiny defunct airline, Private Jet. He is now at United (since 1996). Yay for irrelevant background information.
